At MarchFIRST, I was Lead Information Architect for the eeCentric project, an Internet-based human resources application, I was responsible for leading a team of Information Architects to develop user scenarios, site architectures, user flows and timelines, navigational schemes, and wireframes.

Product Mind Map

For this project, my first achievement was to enable the client to visualize the product concept. I accomplished this by creating and illustrating a mind map of eeCentric, giving the client and the product team a visual representation of the product, its requirements and anticipated user interactions.

User Timeline

One of my responsibilities on this project was to help the client visualize the user and the user's interactions with the product on a daily basis. I accomplished this by participating in focus groups, the creation of user scenarios, the development of user task analyses and the design of user flows and timelines. By combining all these techniques, a full understanding of user behaviors and expectations were determined.

Site Architecture with User Experience Superimposed

After the product concept, product requirements, and an understanding of the user was developed I created a detailed site architecture. The detailed site architecture listed all page types, user flows, product interactions and the primary navigation system. Several user flows were also superimposed on the site architecture to demonstrate to the client how a user would navigate the application.

Template Wire Frame

After the site architecture was complete, wireframes were created. After the wireframes were complete, they were combined with technical requirements created by the engineering team to form the functional spec. The functional spec was then used by all team members to develop the final product.
